How do I find a comparable size?
Compare girth at the same measurement point before comparing size names. Then check usable length, shape, firmness and whether a published dimension is missing. A single widest circumference cannot describe the whole profile.
- Find the exact size you know on its toy page, or measure it.
- Enter girth and usable length in the fit finder.
- Open promising results side by side. Read the labelled differences and check which measurement points each maker publishes.
- Check the maker’s current listing for the available size, firmness, price and delivery terms.
For a worked example of the method, our Medium Merfolk versus Medium Kobold comparison shows published widest girths of 7.1 and 6.9 inches respectively, with usable lengths of 6.0 and 6.1 inches. These are rounded figures checked on 25 September 2026. The table links to both products and separates missing measurements. The slightly wider Merfolk is not thereby a tested substitute for Kobold or any Bad Dragon model.
Does Bad Dragon Firm mean Shore A8?
The sources checked do not establish a verified Shore conversion for Bad Dragon Firm. Dauntless Rooster’s guide compares it with A8. Phallophile Reviews estimates about 00-80, using the words “more likely”. Those are conflicting claims on different scales, not two measurements to average.
Phallophile’s separate Flint review describes an A-scale reading on part of one toy. It does not document a brand-wide 00-80 result. Our translation table keeps the disagreement visible and labels the estimate. The firmness explorer explains why the scale matters.
Are alternatives cheaper or quicker to buy?
That depends on the exact listing. Compare the same size and firmness, then add shipping, taxes and paid options. Check whether the maker is selling a finished item or taking an order to make one. Neither a lower recorded price nor an “in stock” observation guarantees the final delivered price or date.
Goldilocks runs scheduled price and stock checks. Some older listings are no longer returned by a maker’s catalogue, so their recorded prices can be old. The check date matters. A sold-out price is historical evidence, not an offer you can buy, and the maker’s page is the final check before ordering.
What this comparison cannot tell you
Published dimensions do not establish comfort, material quality or identical feel. Firmness words vary across makers; formulations and geometry matter. Our tools compare specifications and identify differences. They do not replace a hands-on test or the maker’s guidance for the particular product.
