From post-box brights to deep oxblood — the drama pour.
Red is the colour makers reach for when a sculpt is meant to feel a bit theatrical — demon reds, dragon-blood crimsons, glossy candy-apple pours. It photographs darker than it looks in hand; a bright red pour under daylight is usually closer to a post-box than a wine bottle.
Because red pigment is strong, it carries through both solid pours and fades. You will see it blended down into blacks and purples at the base of a lot of two-tone pours, where the post-box brightness cools to embers.
Solid reds hold their depth at any firmness. In split and fade pours red usually takes the tip or the ridge details, shading into darker bases. Glow pigment shifts red towards coral in daylight, so glow-in-the-dark reds are rarer than you would expect — check the pour notes.
People who want the toy to look like the creature it is named after. Red is the default for demon, dragon and “slightly villainous” sculpts, and it hides wear and lube clouding better than pale pours.
